Last week, the Grade 7 students filmed the first installment of a three part film of Shmuel Bet. Leading up to filming, we spent a few months reading the first 5 chapters of Shmuel Bet. We worked in chaveruta to read and comprehend the biblical text and converted it to modern Hebrew. We then converted the text into a script. After collecting our scripts, our teachers combined them into one master script which we all had to memorize. After giving us a few weeks to memorize our lines, we had a full day of filming. The first few scenes took a long time but by the end of the day we got the hang of everything and began moving really quickly through all the remaining scenes. It was a really fun learning experience and we can’t wait to contribute more and see the final movie.
