Dr. Greg Beiles is responsible for maintaining the vision and goals of the school. He works with all of the stakeholders to ensure that the mission of the school is transmitted through the curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities of the school. He holds ultimate responsibility for all staffing decisions and student admissions. As Head of School, Greg works closely with the Board to maintain fiscal viability.

Alan Rusonik is our new Principal who comes to Heschel with over 20 years of administrative experience. Alan is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the school, which includes working with all stakeholders to generate enthusiasm and commitment to THS and a positive school culture. He will promote excellence in the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring a school-wide focus on student achievement and development, and will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to strategize around program improvement, innovation, and staff guidance and support. Alan is excited to join this amazing school community and contribute to its continued success!
Andrea Zecharia, MA, R.E.C.E
Director of Early Years
Andrea is responsible for the daily operations of the Preschool, and Junior and Senior Kindergarten, including pedagogy, student achievement, faculty support, supervision and evaluation, and curriculum development and implementation in conjunction with the Head of School/Director of Education and the Principal. She is also responsible for maintaining compliance and meeting all licensing requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act. Andrea is responsible for working with and mentoring the teachers by informing best practices to help maintain high-quality programming.
Director of Admissions & Marketing
Bailey is responsible for bringing new students and families into the school. Bailey works with prospective families, applicants and future families at every stage of the admissions process. She looks forward to sharing the school’s educational philosophy, outlook, and welcoming community with interested parties and discussing whether The Toronto Heschel School would be the right fit for your child.
Director, Junior high
Edna is responsible for the daily running of Junior High, including pedagogy, student achievement, faculty support, supervision, evaluation, and curriculum development and implementation in conjunction with the Head of School/Director of Education and The Learning Centre.
Director of Development & Community Engagement
Ellen is responsible for leading and supporting fundraising and engagement initiatives at The Toronto Heschel School. She works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, Heschel families, and the community, to develop meaningful opportunities for philanthropy and community engagement.
Heidi Friedman, M.S.Ed
Director of Teacher Mentoring
As Director of Teacher Mentoring, Heidi is responsible for working with teachers to provide mentorship on meeting the needs of students with unique learning needs. She observes students, mentors teachers, and provides direct guidance on accommodations where appropriate.
Director of social-emotional learning & Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher
As the Director of Social-Emotional Learning, Malka is responsible for working with teachers to provide mentorship on meeting the needs of students with unique learning needs. She will observe students, mentor teachers, and provide direct guidance on accommodations where appropriate.
Matthew Jadd, MBA, MA, CFRE
Matthew is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the organization’s non-educational daily, monthly and annual financial affairs, as well as the management of the physical facility.
