In Grade 6, students are currently studying ויקרא (Sefer Vayikra) / The Book of Leviticus in Chumash class. Students are learning how through a קורבן (Korban), an “offering,” we come closer to God and people. Through the generative topic קרוב ה’ לכל קוראיו, “We come closer through our words,” we learned about קורבן עולה (Korban Olah) . Korban Olah is an offering that brings נחת רוח, a feeling of “nachas,” of satisfaction to the receiver. Students eagerly made a Korban Olah for a classmate with a focus on the things that bring their classmate nachas, נחת רוח.
