For the Grade 7 Zericha Civics project, we decided that we wanted to help the elderly. We made activity booklets that included crosswords and word searches. We went to the Terrace Gardens, a senior’s home, met some wonderful residents and worked on the booklets together. While working on the booklets, we had a chance to get to know one another and and had lots of fun. The seniors told us all about themselves and the kinds of activities they enjoy. For some of the seniors, working on the booklet was hard, so they were thankful that we were there to help them.
They were very pleased that young people like us took the time to visit and engage with them.
It was a special visit for all the grade seven students as well.
