The Chanukkah concert is the annual Festival of the Arts in which all grades come together to perform Chanukkah songs that connect to our curriculum. This year, the pre-schoolers joined in on the tradition, and the Grade 8 students did an extra performance with our JK students. In addition to the dance with the early year students, the Grade 8s performed a dance to the song Lovely by Billie Eilish. This dance was the final project of a piece of text – Libi BaMizrach by Yehudah Levi the students studied in Language Arts, Ivrit, and Dance. All of the Junior High grades wrote their own songs based on Talmudic text or an older song, and some of the grades added instruments or motions into their Chanukkah song. This was an amazing experience for the whole school, and we can’t wait for it to come again next year.
