“Through the Classroom Window” is an opportunity for teachers to share the inspiring learning that takes place in their classrooms, giving others a glimpse into the heartbeat of the school. Today, Grade 4 teachers Moreh Aiden and Morah Malka tell us about how this week’s Grade 4 plays were developed.

The novel study plays are created through a lot of creativity, hard work and dedication. It all began with our cast and writers reading, analyzing, and discussing the hilarious novel, Jacob Two–Two Meets the Hooded Fang by Canadian-Jewish author Mordecai Richler. Next, students studied the rules of script writing and adapted the novel’s plot into play format. Finally, students learned all their lines, created beautiful backdrops, and diligently rehearsed each scene. Their fantastic effort was presented to the Heschel community this week!
