Just as God named dark and light, we are naming our feelings. In JK we are learning how to read people’s faces and bodies and to express how we are feeling to others so that they can help and understand us.
From the creation of light, we got beautiful colours, so we read the story, My Many Coloured Days by Dr. Seuss and asked ourselves, “what colour am I feeling today?”
Does red make me feel angry or warm? How about purple? After acting out the Hebrew song, ילדים והמטריה, JK students picked the colour they were feeling and hung it on our umbrella, .
We are now using our umbrella to further our learning about transparency, translucency, and opaque objects.
