We are thrilled to announce that our very own Morah Lisa Sheps has been selected as winner of the 2022 Covenant Foundation Pomegranate Prize. The Pomegranate Prize recognizes emerging leaders in the field of Jewish education by encouraging them in their pursuits and offering the resources and connections necessary to accelerate their development, deepen their self-awareness, and amplify their impact in the field.
Lisa was awarded the prize for her excellence in arts-integrated teaching, curriculum innovation and teacher mentorship, as well as her role as Staff Editor for THINK Magazine at the Lola Stein Institute. Lisa, along with the four other 2022 winners of the Pomegranate Prize, was honoured at the annual Covenant Foundation Awards Ceremony, held Sunday night in Chicago.
Lisa joins Moreh Greg Beiles, winner of the 2019 Covenant Award honouring those who have made an impact on Jewish life through innovative educational practices and models, as The Toronto Heschel School’s second award recipient from the prestigious Covenant Foundation. Her work exemplifies the spirit of innovation and excellence of THS faculty and we are incredibly proud of Lisa for her accomplishments and for this well-deserved recognition.
