Last Sunday, The Toronto Heschel School halls buzzed with excitement as our Heschel families came together for a joyous Community Chanukkah Celebration. Here’s a look back at the unforgettable moments from this festive day!

A Spark for Everyone, a Celebration for All

The celebration was filled with anticipation for the evening’s events. The brand-new STEAM Lab was open for exploration, and families got hands-on by building their own mini Lego Chanukiot. This activity was a hit, allowing participants to unleash their creativity in our new innovative space.

Activities Galore

The school was alive with engaging activities that brought smiles to faces young and old. Families enjoyed browsing a curated selection of books at the book fair, getting an exclusive sneak peek before students began their in-class shopping the following day. In the art room, our amazing morot led fun craft sessions where children rolled their own wax candles and designed Chanukkah-themed buttons, adding a creative touch to the festivities.

The silent online auction, supported by generous donations from community members, offered a variety of items ranging from unique gifts to sought-after experiences. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our bidders, the auction raised over $3,600 to support our school community—a wonderful achievement made possible by everyone who participated.

What’s a party without food? The snack bar served up a delicious array of Chanukkah treats, including sufganiyot, latkes, and pizza!

One of the most memorable moments was the Festival of Lights dance party. The Inflatable Bubble House provided a magical atmosphere, while Magen Boys Entertainment kept the energy high with music and dancing that had everyone on their feet. The turnout was incredible, with families filling the school and creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.

A Community United

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing families, students, and staff come together in celebration. The vibrant energy and warmth of our community shone brightly, reminding us of the meaning of Chanukkah—a time to cherish miracles, kindle hope, and celebrate togetherness.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made our Heschel Community Chanukkah Celebration such a success. A special thank you to our parent volunteers, staff, and the Heschel team for organizing a celebration that truly captured the spirit of Heschel.
