On Wednesday, December 7, Grade 2 students visited the Textile Museum of Canada to see the “Double Vision” exhibition featuring textiles, prints, and drawings by an Inuit mother and two of her daughters. In the art room and Language Arts classes, students learned Indigenous fables. At the gallery, they connected their knowledge to the artworks on display and took time to sketch several of the works in great detail. The artists will be creating their own textile artworks inspired by Indigenous fables in the art room over the coming weeks.
