  • How many people can attend? What about aunts, uncles, cousins, etc?
    One guest per student.

We would love to see your whole family, however we do have limited spaces in our classrooms. We encourage each child to invite one inter-generational family members or friends. If there are extended family members who cannot attend they are invited to record and share a video greeting to be played at school during Generations Day
  • Can a parent attend?
Yes, if there is no one else available to join your child.

Generations Day is a chance for extended family members and intergenerational friends to spend time with your children and learn about Heschel. If no extended family members or friends are available to come, a parent may come in their place as we do not want to see any child alone during this even
  • What time should we arrive and where do we go?
    • 10:00 am if you are accompanying a child in Grades 2 - 5 so that you can find your child’s classroom by 9:30 am
    • 9:20 am if you are accompanying a child in JK, SK, Grades 1, or Grades 6 - 8. Please come directly to the Gym.
  • How many learning sessions are there? What if I have multiple children?
    There are two learning sessions:
    • 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. for students in Grades 2 -5.
    • 10:50 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for students in JK, SK, Grade 1, 6, 7, 8.

If you have multiple students in the same session, we recommend that you send along two adults, one to accompany each child.
  • What happens if my child does not have a guest?
Your child will be invited to join with another student and their guest in the activities.
  • Do I need to RSVP?

Please RSVP using the form above with your names, and do notify us of any mobility concerns, so that we can be sure to prepare for all who attend.
  • Where can I park?
    Staff Parking Lot
    • There will be a limited number of spaces here; please try to leave these spots for disabled visitors
    Street Parking around the school
    • Parking on McAllister and Faywood are suggested
    • Parking on Alexis Blvd is allowed and we will keep the east gate open
Kindly observe all traffic signs as we cannot be held responsible for those who are ticketed. Additionally, if possible avoid bringing your car. Have someone drop you off at the school or car-pool.
  • What’s this about a video? What do I have to do?
We are going to compile a video montage to play at school during Generations Day. We hope to include grandparents who live far away and extended family who won’t be attending the actual event. And even if you are attending you can still send a greeting for our video!

It's not hard, just record a brief greeting with your phone and email it to us at generationsdayheschel@gmail.com. Please try to keep it around 30 seconds in length and keep in mind we may edit for length. So we can start our editing, the deadline for sending us a video is Sunday, May 14, 2018.
