Calling all kid inventors, designers and engineers! Do you like to know how things are made? Do you want to explore the world of upcycling? Do you love to creatively design things from scratch? If so, then this after school class is the right fit for you! Inventor’s Club is all about using our hands and our brains to design brilliant, light-bulb worthy ideas. Over the semester, we’ll learn all about the world of inventors, designers, and engineers. Using a variety of craft, recycled materials and some electronics, each child will create prototypes, sketch ideas, build 3D models, and demo designs. Get ready to discover! The next big idea is YOUR idea!

Chess Institute of Canada (CIC) is bringing its popular and rewarding after school chess club back to The Toronto Heschel School this fall! All levels of chess players are welcome. Beginners will be gifted with the universal language of chess knowledge, while advanced players will be challenged and raised to new levels. Here it is, back by popular demand, a ‘pint sized’ Heschel Drama Program designed specifically for our youngest students. Each week our JK and SK participants will be kept busy exploring a new and exciting theme through role-playing, storytelling, music, movement and creative exploration. Along the way they’ll gain confidence and learn to work collaboratively and independently. Most importantly, they’ll have lots of fun! Join us!

In this class, participants will be initiated into the exciting and creative world of baking. Masterchefs will learn to mix, whisk and measure while learning to make delicious cakes, cookies, breads and desserts. Our experienced instructor will teach your child how to make delicious and nutritious dishes that they will be begging to recreate at home! All ingredients are kosher and nut-free.
Kids will be competing in a Masterchef competition at the end of the session where they will create their own recipes and put their creativity to the test!

Wanda’s Creative Clay is a team of caring clay instructors who value and love children and has been in business for over 20 years. Our classes consist of gentle step-by-step, no fail instruction, creating new and exciting oven-baked clay projects each week. We create a fun, safe and enriched environment that allows your child to express themselves, work on their fine motor skills, math & colour recognition, teamwork and build their confidence all while having fun!
Open to students in Grades JK-Grade 3 – MAXIMUM # OF STUDENTS IS 14
Wednesdays from 3:50-4:50 pm

Additional Cost:$65 for uniform, children’s manual and crest.
Additional Materials: a white t-shirt to wear under their gi and a water bottle

Introduce young bodies and minds to fitness, focus, discipline, goal setting.
Students are taught the principles of respect, compassion and gratitude. The classes instill and develop self-esteem, confidence, improve focus, concentration….
The children will be introduced to basic blocks, rolls and falls, self-defence techniques all taught in an enjoyable yet disciplined environment.

Little Fingers Music Keyboard Classes are a fun introduction to learning the fundamentals of keyboard and music theory through practical playing, writing exercises and the use of Song Games. These classes prepare students for one-on-one keyboard lessons.
