Chuggim: After School Activities – Winter 2025

We are pleased to announce our 2025 Winter Extracurricular / Chuggim Programs. Please sign up directly with our third-party providers.  

Registration Deadline for all Winter Chuggim Programs is January 8th.

Please note: If your child is in Grades 1-3, they will go directly to the Kids’ Club Room at dismissal. The program instructors will pick the student up at the Kids’ Club Room and take them to the program. Early Years students will be signed out from their classroom and taken by a staff member to the program. Those children who are part of Aftercare or Early Years Aftercare will be taken back to aftercare at the completion of the program.

Monday

L’Dance Hip Hop Classes
In these classes, your children learn hip hop style dancing.  Dancers will explore this fun style of dance while stretching and perfecting a routine to be filmed and shared at the end of the sessions.  Classes are catered to energetic boys and girls!

Chess Club
The Chess Club is designed for students brand new for chess and for students who have basic skills and want to develop further.
Classes will cover piece movement, rules of the game and go beyond foundational principles by introducing students to themes and giving them an opportunity to practice what they have learned.

The Lego Afterschool Club
Introducing an engaging 8-week program designed to unleash the creative potential of children through the fascinating world of LEGO building. In this workshop, students will immerse themselves in a hands-on experience that fosters problem-solving, reasoning, and creativity skills. Join us on this exciting journey of imagination, discovery, and fun, as we divr into the limitless possibilities of building with LEGO bricks!

Junior Drama
Back by popular demand! Students will begin with an introduction to drama performance using drama games improvisation, character building, and movement of mime.  Once the fundamentals of drama performance are in place, term two will focus on the creation of an original performance ( The Junior Play) to be performed in conjunction with the Heschel School Play ( Lion King Jr.) on May 26 & 27 at the Fairview Library Theatre.
This drama program spans two full terms.  Students must enroll for the entire 17 week program in order to be ready to participate on one of the performance dates at the theatre.
Class size is limited.

Introduction to Sewing

Junior Glee Club
Welcome to the Junior with L’Dance.  This fun and creative club is designed for students who love to sing, dance, crafts, and build their confidence in a supportive and exciting environment.  Whether your child is an experienced performer or just loves to try new things this club is the perfect place to explore creativity, build teamwork and grow in self confidence.
