Parent Voice

I did a great deal of research when choosing a school for my son and after only 3 months, I am certain that I made the right decision! The staff at Heschel have all encouraged him and helped him to blossom.

Welcome to The Toronto Heschel School where a substantive Jewish education is more than memorizing.

Our proven success is based on:
  •     A time tested & integrated curriculum

  •     Teaching students to think critically and creatively

  •     Instilling a love of learning in every child

  •     Engagement in environmentalism and outreach

  •     An inclusive approach to Judaism

The Toronto Heschel School Experience

Our Graduates, Former Students &
Current Students
Accomplish Great Things

14 out of 16 Heschel graduates that attended Grade 11 at CHAT last school year achieved Honour Roll status.  7 of those students had above 90% averages!

Currently, five Heschel graduates are attending the highly competitive and prestigious Math and Computer Studies Program (MaCS) at William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate, which offers an enriched curriculum in English, Geography, Math, Science and Computer Studies.

Our Grade 6 students participated in the Brock Caribou Math Contest and did exceptionally well.  Of particular note, Jake Wyman placed 7th in Canada, 4th in Ontario and 1st in the private school division.  5 students finished in the top 10% and half the grade was in the top 25%.

Jonah Himelfarb (class of 2007) was the Grade 12 valedictorian at CHAT. In a speech to our Grade 8 class he said, "Heschel makes beautiful people with brilliant moral compasses."

Paige Mawson (class of 2010) won the Academic Excellence Award for the highest marks in Grade 9 and Grade 10 at Greenwood College.

Of a 1700 student population at Northern Secondary School, 2 Heschel alumni have received “Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Awards” and one received the “Subject Achievement Certificate”.

My child was awarded a Grade 9 Academic Achievement Award in Math at CHAT.  I know some Heschel parents are always interested in how Heschel prepares students for High School.  Chalk one up for Heschel!

Those who sense the wonder, share in the wonder.
