Heschel Academics

The Junior High Division is a unique place in which students and staff participate collaboratively in the governance of the school; where student activities reflect the interests and needs of the student body. The integrated curriculum informs the students’ awareness of the world around them and infuses their lives with a desire to make a difference. 

Our curriculum is developed with the collaboration and support of teachers in all disciplines.  Students learn to appreciate varying perspectives and interpretations of texts and concepts.  They tackle difficult ethical issues and explore what it means to be a engaged Jewish citizen.
Beyond the classroom, students engage in a variety of activities from debating club to the creation of the school’s yearbook to the various athletic opportunities. Our school collaborates with other Jewish Day Schools on academic field trips, social events and programmes.

Our graduates leave our school as proud and knowledgeable Jewish citizens who understand the importance of mutual respect and understanding and that they have a critical voice in shaping the future.
